Discover the island flavors of Gran Canaria on this food tour, where we'll visit the Arehucas rum distillery and the Banana Museum in Arucas. We'll also visit a farm in Agaete where we'll taste coffee and wine and take part in a Canarian mojo workshop.

Activity Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria that you have chosen in your booking. Are you ready to discover the flavors of the island?

We'll start the tour by driving to Arucas. In this beautiful town in the north of Gran Canaria, we'll first visit the Arehucas distillery, where we'll discover how rum is made from sugar cane. At the end of the tour of the factory, those who wish will be able to taste different types of rum on their own.

After visiting the distillery, the tour continues with a visit to the Banana Museum. As we tour the exhibit, we'll learn about the origins of this product, which has become a reference point in Canarian gastronomy. We'll also show you how to distinguish the native variety of the archipelago, which is characterized by its small size and its yellow color with brown speckles.

In the museum shop, you can buy wines, liqueurs, pâtés, and creams made from bananas. Afterward, we'll head to a local restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Gran Canarian recipes at your leisure. Your mouth will be watering with every dish!

After lunch, we'll continue our gastronomic route through the north of the island:

If you take the tour on a Tuesday, we’ll visit the Los Olivos estate. There, we’ll take a guided tour (in Spanish) and enjoy a tasting of olives, olive oils, and other products
If you take the tour on a Thursday, we’ll visit the Los Berrazales winery. There, we’ll take a guided tour (in English), enjoy a coffee tasting, and participate in a mojo sauce workshop.

Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria after 6 to 8 hours.

The tour includes pickup from the following tourist areas:

7:45 to 8:20 am: from Puerto de Mogán to Arguineguín. Arrival at 5:30 pm approximately
8:35 to 8:45 am: from Sonnenland and Meloneras to Campo de Golf. Arrival at 5 pm approximately
8:50 to 9:20 am: from Playa del Inglés to Bahía Feliz. Arrival at 5 pm approximately

Important: on Mondays, there is no pickup service in the areas of Arguineguín, Patalavaca, Puerto Rico, Taurito, and Mogán. In this case, you'll need to make your way to the Hotel Parque Tropical (in Playa del Inglés) or another location in Playa del Inglés or Meloneras.
